Use the map direction controls (the arrows) to shift the map in any direction and the depth controls (+ and -) to zoom in and out.   You can zoom it and move it as far as you want!  In fact, if you happen to live here, you can drill down and find your own house.  Use the hybrid view and give it a try.

But don't go too deep! Just remember that satellite imagery data from Google Maps can be up to three years old.

Drill down on the map (using the + sign) and see what's right on the lake.

Try finding South Lake Tahoe and the casinos near the golf coursee or Incline Village on the north shore.   It's a lot of fun and pretty easy to move around on the map once you get the hang of it.

More On Using the Map Controls

The arrows are used for directional control.  The up arrow moves the map view north, the left arrow moves the map view west, and so on.   You can also left click on the map, hold that down, and drag the map in any direction.

The + sign is used to see a more detailed view and the - sign is used to see a less detailed view.

The map view shows details of the area and gets more detailed the more you drill down.   The satellite view shows the actual area as seen from space and also gets more detailed the closer in you go.  The hybrid view is a combination of the map and satellite views.
