Lake Tahoe Nevada

The largest alpine lake in North America, Lake Tahoe is twelve miles wide and twenty-two miles long.

It is truly one of the most magnificent places that you will ever see.   If you plan on traveling to Lake Tahoe from Reno, make sure that you drive over on the Mt. Rose highway.  You will see spectacular views of the lake on your way down to Incline Village.   Bring a camera because you will want to stop at the vantage point to get some pictures.

Lots of Fun, Winter or Summer

Lake Tahoe is devoted to the tourism industry and there is a lot to do here all year long.

In the winter, skiing is the main attraction with many choices, including Heavenly Mountain Resort, Squaw Valley, and Alpine Meadows.  Beware of the blizzards though, as they can be severe at times.

In the summer there is golf, hiking, mountain biking and lots of water sports.

And of course, there are the casinos all year, all the time!

South Shore is the Best Spot For Casinos

There aren't a lot of casinos at Lake Tahoe but the south shore has the best selection with Harrah's, Harvey's, the new MontBleu (formerly Caesars Palace), and a few others.
